Love this so much!! Like there’s SO much individuality that goes into an individuals personal wellness equation. This is what my Substack is all about. What works for one person won’t necessarily work for another!
Love my Oura ring in general (helped me realize what habits close to bed disrupted my sleep) but ditched it the minute it started to constantly remind me while pregnant that my readiness was low and my resilience “limited.” I just grew a human! I am resilient! 😂
Finally! Someone who really GETS IT!! Growing up in India and we had no access to fancy supplements. We ate ghee and carbs and fruits and snacks (I can still hear my mum saying “everything in moderation, love”) and played outside in the fresh air and napped when it got too hot, and all was well with the world. Thank you for re-reminding us with this list of REALLY SENSIBLE THINGS TO DO AND NOT DO!!! ♥️
As a herbalist, I love all of these points! I sort of thought you would be into all those things as you have "celebrity status", but this really humbled my thoughts about you and your business! And damn... those gummies. I work in a health food store and it is SO hard to convince people that the gummies they are buying are not strong enough to really make an impact.. unless they eat tons of them.. which in that case their blood sugar will not be happy!
the more wellness becomes a fad and thing to do we’re forgetting to actually listen to what our bodies needs. if we tune out the noise of what the industry says we should do and, like you said, opt for resources available (walking, sunlight) we’d be content. mass consumerism doesn’t appeal to content, they want us to think we need more more more.
Wow thanks for the ass kissing response Allison! Using under SPF50 is asking for burning and possible skin cancer, hence why they come with warnings about their ineffectiveness.
Americans really continue to consider themselves the centre of the universe huh.
I agree with just about all your points. I do wear an Oura ring, but I also follow my own intuition with how it aligns with what it tells me each morning. Take what works and leave the rest. I appreciate you drawing attention to the many artificial constructs that take us away from our inherent wisdom. Just need to pay attention.
Lo, this is the first post I've ever read of yours, and I loved it! I may not agree with you on the mouth tape point, and I really do enjoy my Oura ring, but that's a personal preference! That said, I agree with everything else. (God, don't get me started on IV drips. What a waste of $$$!)
One to add: powdered collagen. Study after study proves that drinking it does nothing to improve your skin. You know what does, though? Myofascial and lymphatic massage. I do a 10-minute routine every day that's free (see @anastasiabeautyfascia on Instagram) and it's done wonders for my face! 🩷
I love this thanks for sharing a lot of this resonates with me! The steps in particular often beat myself up for less steps but you’re right movement is movement and all these trends can be overwhelming! Time to start listening to our bodies
What I’m “falling for” is what works for ME and taking in the information, doing my own research, and using what’s best for me and my health!!! ❤️❤️

Correct!
LOVE !! Agreed with every single one
10/10 agree! someone had to say it.

I'd add the nose strips with the mouth tape...
And I have to say the vilification of seed oils...

Gummy brands are so full of it

Imagine telling an Australian to use under SPF50. Wild.
Good thing she didn’t!
Going above 50 SPF tends to give people false promise — they think they’re good for much longer than they are. Wear 50, but reapply it regularly.

Really good. “Thinking protein is a trend” is especially important ! 💯💯💯
I haven’t read this yet, but mouth tape is the worst thing I’ve ever seen.

Underestimating the power of people and connection-it is wellness!

My favorite post of yours yet!
