Listen, after my last post about dragged half the wellness industry, I got approximately 847 DMs asking what I do believe in. Fair question. Because while I'm over mouth tape and $40 fitness classes, I'm absolutely here for the small, (sometimes) unglamorous shortcuts that actually move the needle.
These aren't the hacks that always look good on your morning routine TikTok. But they work. And honestly? Some of them are a little controversial.
Here are the wellness "hacks" I'm actually falling for right now:
1. Whole Milk Lattes as Breakfast (Sometimes)
I said what I said.
Look, I know we're supposed to have these beautiful acai bowls and overnight oats every morning. But some days, I wake up, I'm running late, and my choice is between a whole milk latte or nothing. And you know what? The latte wins every time.
Full-fat milk has protein. It has fat. It keeps me satisfied until I can eat real food. It’s full of calcium (so important for us girls. Is it optimal? I mean … no. But is it realistic? Absolutely.
Perfect is the enemy of good, and good is a latte that prevents me from face-planting into a croissant at 11 a.m.
2. Taking Vitamins at Night
This one's going to make some people question their current morning routine.
Everyone preaches morning vitamins with breakfast. But sometimes taking vitamins during the day without a meal can make you feel icky. I've definitely experienced that queasy, off feeling (I do’n’t always eat breakfast, sue me).
So I switched to taking them at night, right before bed (unless the label specifically says otherwise). If there's any mild discomfort, you fall asleep and sleep right through it. Better absorption because I'm not immediately diluting them with coffee. And honestly? One less thing to remember in my chaotic mornings.
As someone who owns a supplements business, this is genuinely my biggest hack: nighttime vitamins unless otherwise directed. Your stomach doesn't know what time it is. Do what works.
3. Strategic Phone Charger Placement
This isn't wellness, except it totally is.
I have chargers everywhere. Couch charger. Kitchen charger. Office charger. Bathroom charger (don't judge). Car charger times three.
Because you know what kills my zen faster than anything? A dead phone when I need to call an Uber, pay for something, or literally exist in 2025. It's the smallest investment that eliminates the biggest daily stress.
Low-grade anxiety about battery life is not the life we're living. Clearly, I’m not Type-B.
4. Body Serum/Oil Over Body Lotion
Here's where I'm about to sound bougie, but stick with me.
I've completely switched from body lotion to body serums and oils, and specifically, I'm obsessed with layering OSEA's Hyaluronic Body Serum under their Undaria Algae Body Oil (I've been using this combo for 5+ years now). The serum goes on first for hydration, then the oil seals it all in. AND!!! it’s 10% off today with code LOB10 :)
If you think about your facial skincare routine and your probable switch to serums and oils over pore-clogging alternatives, this duo gives similar results for your body—smooth, hydrated, and glowing skin.
It sounds extra, but here's why it works: oils actually absorb better than most lotions (which are full of water and fillers), they last longer, and honestly? I feel like a glowing goddess. Real-life feedback that confirms this: I used this combo all over before my bachelorette party and my friends kept talking about my glowing clavicles and shoulders throughout the evening.
The OSEA combo has become non-negotiable for me. I use them morning and night, but at night I get extra with it for the lymphatic drainage massage I do once or twice a week. Serum first, then I use a lot of oil for the perfect slip. Your hand or body tool really needs to glide across the skin for the massage to be useful, and this duo is perfect for body sculpting, then waking up absolutely glowing.
The serum has hyaluronic acid that actually plumps your skin, and the algae oil doesn't leave you feeling greasy. It's clean, it works, and it makes my skin look expensive. I literally keep the duo on my nightstand because using it has become part of my wind-down routine.
5. Eating Dinner at 5 PM (When Possible)
I know. I KNOW. It's giving retirement home energy.
But early dinners have changed my sleep, my digestion, and honestly, my entire evening routine. When I eat by 5 or 6, I'm not going to bed on a full stomach. I sleep better. I wake up actually hungry for breakfast instead of force-feeding myself overnight oats.
Plus, restaurants are less crowded, reservations are easier, and I can still have a glass of wine without it affecting my sleep. Win-win-win.
6. Washing My Hair Every Single Day
Come at me, hair influencers.
I know everyone's obsessed with training their hair to go longer between washes, but my dermatologists (yes, plural) have told me that daily washing is actually important for scalp health—especially if you have any sensitivity, buildup, or live in a city like New York where pollution is real.
I use a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo, and my hair has never been healthier. My scalp doesn't itch. I don't get weird bumps or irritation. And honestly? I like how my hair looks and feels when it's actually clean.
The "don't wash your hair" movement works for some people, but it's not universal law. I'm quite happy to not look kind of greasy every day.
7. Skipping Breakfast When I'm Not Hungry
This one's going to trigger people, but I'm not forcing food down my throat at 7 a.m. just because diet culture told me breakfast is "the most important meal of the day."
Some mornings I wake up and I'm genuinely not hungry until 11 a.m. So I wait. I have my coffee, I drink water, and I eat when my body actually wants food.
Intermittent fasting wasn't intentional for me. it's just how my body naturally wants to operate. And honestly? I have better energy when I'm not choking down eggs I don't want.
8. Using My Phone in Bed
I know, I know. Blue light, sleep hygiene, digital detox, blah blah blah.
But here's the thing: sometimes scrolling TikTok for 20 minutes helps me decompress from the day. Sometimes I need to set tomorrow's alarms, check the weather, or answer one last text.
I'm not doom-scrolling for hours, but this rigid "no phones in the bedroom" rule feels performative. My phone is my alarm clock, my meditation app, my sleep sounds. It's staying.
9. Sunday Batch Cooking (But Make It Realistic)
I'm not meal-prepping Instagram-worthy containers for the week. But I am making a big batch of something on Sunday. Could be roasted vegetables, quinoa, soup, whatever, so I have one component of dinner already handled Monday through Wednesday.
It's not perfect, but it's the difference between cooking from scratch and ordering take-out for every meal.
10. Saying No to Things I Don't Want to Do
Plot twist: this is actually the most important health hack of all.
No to drinks I don't want to attend. No to plans that exhaust me. No to commitments that don't serve me. No to wellness trends that make me feel bad about myself.
Boundaries aren't bitchy. They're necessary.
Here's the thing about real wellness: it's not about the hacks that look good on social media. It's about the small, consistent choices that make your actual life easier, healthier, and more enjoyable.
Some of these might sound basic. Some might sound silly. Some might sound controversial.
But they work for me, in my real life, with my real schedule and my real limitations.
And that's the only wellness that matters.

P.S. - Yes, I'm working with OSEA on this post because I genuinely love their Hyaluronic Body Serum and Undaria Algae Body Oil combo. When brands make products I actually use and believe in, I'm happy to tell you about them. That's how this works.
May I ask which gentle sulfate free shampoo you use?
Sooo ya umm you shouldn’t take all of your supplements in the morning or all of your supplements at night in a full stack like that; there are so many different vitamins that compete with one another when taken together that you should not take them together, the obvious being copper- zinc, iron-zinc, calcium-magnesium, so on and so forth that’s kind of a super daft remark to make
